The Great Content Transition
First Things First: Time to turn these various streams of content into various streams of income.
November 18th 2012: I uploaded my first post to my Instagram page ‘illustr8_ink.’ It was a digital self portrait that I completed for class back in my sophomore year of college. At that point forward I believed I was going to use my account for good (had to do it), for displaying my art work whether it be canvas or digital. I continued posting random works here and there as I tried to figure out my art path. But the content of the posts were random to say the least; being about art, fashion, family, entertainment; pretty much like any IG page from the early 2010’s.
That brought me to about 2 years later where I decided it better to move my art over to a new solo page, one I dubbed ink_freely. This one was born on October 20th, 2014 starting with a canvas collection I was working on from Super Smash Bros mashups. I had a plan in the beginning where I wanted to draw up the characters fighting each other in my own art style and sell to the public so I posted them on my page to advertise, but how many years later I never got a single hit. That is one thing that I’ve always tried to fight through; when I promote work to see if those around are willing to pay for my art and no one buys it, I’ll keep thinking up a new ways to create. I have to be the one to see the worth and validate before anyone else. So in the past year I just gave them away because I wanted them to have a home elsewhere while I cleaned my palette. Back to the account, I continued to post art related content until October 2018 where I just fell away from creativity (plus I was wrapping up the last year of college)…
Which brings us to todays topic: even though I’m horrible with posting and using IG, social media has its place if it’s paying its rent. Starting with my 2 separate Instagram accounts: My main page (now GlassHalfFilled) will be used to demo and announce brand and specific YouTube updates. Ink_Freely will be revived but instead as Know Your Craft, essentially allowing me to use almost as a community page where I can post more quick and easy update content. My GHF Twitter will continue as it is, emulating almost every aspect of personal and business that I’m working on, like a quick-draw blog. And EVERYTHING will divert back to my main hub for all at HumanByDesignCo For now that should be enough to where I can keep my already broken focus on getting my work out. Like I’ve said before, my projects have projects until something finally hits.
