Big Nerd energy incoming...

First Things First: You really don’t know who you are until you’re in your 30’s…

Alright I’ve figured it out, I know I’m late but it just hit me: The reason for writing a blog allows you the time to think, write, draft, review, and publish your thoughts for that period of your life. If I kept one 5 years ago, I would have been documenting 29 year old Patrick who was finishing his third year of college, taking trips 3 to 4 times a year, hanging out with friends on a weekly basis and probably being in better shape than I had any time prior (and now maybe in the future). Those thoughts and images are now documented on Instagram as minimal as they are and as cool as I thought I was. And now in the present at age 34 (……..wow….), I’ve seen a slightly different me. One that is deep into things of the past, things that I always found joy in but thought it something against my character. This is some Nerd nostalgia.

Open my YouTube right now, check my Netflix Watchlist, quick glance at my Amazon browsing history; I have no idea who was in my accounts but it’s filled with Anime and ancient cartoons. I always had an affinity for those in the nerd community but I thought, as everyone believes, after you finish school you leave behind those things of old. I really didn’t know myself (remember what my FTF says up above). Demon Slayer, Transformers, Marvel Comic and Cinematic Universe, Dragon Ball. If you know these names you know the culture created around these power houses of content and I’m fully involved with these with their merch, media and communities. Even to the point of figure purchases and displays. I truly couldn’t tell you what happened over the past year.

SO NOW I’m of age to understand my hobbies and interests which includes everything you’ll see on my YouTube channel from this date forward, though if you were invited into my home you could easily see this turn of events as of recent (these items have always subtly been around me). I don’t have a bunch of close friends who share completely what intrigues me which is good. It means I can delve into these various online communities by myself to share the different passions. Welcome to Reddit…

This is just a quick intro into allowing outside people see or know a piece of me I may have kept private up to this post. At the moment of posting this blog I’ve already uploaded my “Unbox, Build & Chill” video. If you’ve seen it, the descent down figure hunt and displays took a turn lol. But I don’t regret any of it. Let’s see what happens in the next 5 years now…
