Finally switching my Print on Demand

First things first: You can watch the video below or read the blog, both are fundamental.

“Welcome back to the Blog, My name is Patrick, this is a rehash of ideas, and I gotta find a new Print on Demand platform. Need to know why? check the last video about What’s wrong with Print on Demand (or the blog of a similar name)…

Short version, the Teespring/ Spring platform kind of iffy right now; Orders not going out, people not getting paid, warehouses getting shutdown, but for some reason there is a Reddit “bot” attempting to communicate in every critical post and assure people that things will get better….I don’t know anymore man...

So I closed my store for the most part (AKA removed all links) so anyone who wishes to support isn’t taken advantage of. But next steps is choosing a new store front.

Now, I've cut out all the looking/ choosing documentation portion because I got way much more going on in life right now to record multiple parts like how I did in the beginning of the channel, so I’ve already chosen the successor:

Printful.

This is mainly because they have a Squarespace integration and I use Squarespace to power my website Human X Design; link in the description (I also have a video on my website from last year but I should probably do a 2023 update...(thumbnail screenshot)). Having the Site housed right here, right where I’ve been trying to bring onlookers of the channel is an opportunity I can’t pass up so time to get to work.

So in true Know Your Craft fashion I’ll run by the steps taken to get to this point:

  1. I created a Printful account.

  2. Loaded up my basic branding designs using the uploader and transparent PNG files.

  3. Chose the beginning garments that I want to start selling on.

  4. Head over to my already created Squarespace site and… pause…

…because now I have some backend things to take care of before finishing that part.

The type of Plan required to incorporate an embedded storefront is either $36 a month or $324 annually. I currently pay for the Personal Plan annually at $168 so the business inclusion will definitely have to pay for itself in profits. So I’m taking a chance at the moment but I’m already liking a few things on this platform a lot more. The creation of products is a bit more technical and the garments do have a larger variety in options so take your time if your switching over from a more point & shoot platform such as Spring.

And the hard part is done. definitely took me way too long to commit the time and build out the basics but now I can just come in every so often and drop another product with the already made templates.

Last bits of work left are to

  • Set up Billing

  • Order Samples

This post was just an informal, less of a how-to and more of an update. I really just want my shop back up because I miss the process. Also I hope Spring doesn’t completely sink and they turn it around but having all my stuff in once place is an opportunity I can’t turn down. So from the day you’re reading this I have to turn up the self promo and posts that bring people back to my website and subsequently the shop. Hope to see you there soon.
