HXD 2023...

First things first: There’s some progress in there somewhere.

This blog post applies to everything I’m currently involved in. The Know Your Craft Channel, the Craft Collects channel, the HXD Brand name, all of it. At the mid point of the year I finally got my stuff together and this is where we’re at.

Marking this moment; I’m 35 years old, firmly in my career as an IT professional, working on a solid relationship, yet still filled with anxiety and doubt. And that is OK, I know that now. Yet before I had always only known fear of the unknown and aimlessly going through to the next step. But like anyone else on the verge of the other half of their 30’s, there is so much left to be lived and fulfilled. Everyone around you is planning and attaining goals. What a depressing way to start a blog.

Really I’m glad the path Know Your Craft is going. Even though this year has been slower and a change of tools, I finally obtained the LLC name and integrated my shop to this website. I know that i will take a hit on the back end but this instead provides an actual monetary goal to reach to actually make a profit and afford this concept. So the channel is where the education and planning is displayed, but the website will truly have to create real growth.

Craft Collects is currently a money pit. At the time of writing the channel has 75 subs, 50+ videos, and 15k views in 1 year. Yep it’s not a lot but it’s an honest living (let me know if you know the meme). All I’ve done is purchase figures and show that I’ve purchased them but how can I make this any different than most other pages online? So reviews are ramping up as well as the quick conversations I want to have about the hobby. What time do I have to script these? You tell me in Year 2.

Human X Design is the home for it all. If you’re reading this vlog then you’re on the site. Tell me how you like it, the navigation, the display, shop. DM me or send me an email and I’ll accept the critique. I am just proud to have something to call my own that isn’t on someone else platform.

So next blog will start out way more positive than this one. Thanks for reading my written thoughts. It's weird sometimes thinking a strander will come across this one day. Yet how else do you share your perspective for others to relate?
