Photographer of leisure, not labor

First things first: There's no way Peter Parker was able to pay any form of rent or amenities as a freelance photographer, but that might explain all his stress and struggle...

I was supposed to fill this website’s portfolio with the most novice photographs most likely taken on my phone but hopefully more on the Canon Rebel I use for everything else. Instead I’ve been selective of what I would upload or just rarely taking pictures.

What happened with the fire and consistency I once had for creating?

The site as a whole fell on the back burner and the annual subscription I paid in February feels like free money to Squarespace and a waste for myself.

I have to engage more with Social Media and YouTube (is YouTube Social Media?) and be my own advertisement. There’s so much going on with my own personal life that to keep up with writing small blog posts and stories feels time consuming but I know it can elongate the amount of content visible on all my platforms.

So back to the reason for picking up photography, I needed an outlet to be artistic and creative with photographs of everyday life. Which means regardless the device I’m using to take a picture, I will upload more and design and edit more. Being more mindful of missing out on fun.

The little portfolio I have up now is just to lock in memories than find clients, it should have a purpose and it’s purpose has always been to remember how beautiful life is.
